Kara Bartek is the sole commercial coordinator at Murtha Skouras Agency, the leading boutique below-the-line talent agency. She manages the communications, calendars, and contracts between three executive agents, brands, 40+ production companies, and 250+ global clients. Those clients include directors of photography, production designers, costume designers, editors, 1st ADs, and post supervisors, and many have won Academy Awards and Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) awards for their work. 

Previously, Kara was a production relationship manager at EightPM, integrating brands in streamable TV and movies and designing the agency’s proprietary rubric to measure and score the product placement impact for clients. 

Kara is also an award-winning producer and production coordinator. She has supervised logistics from concept to distribution on 20+ productions, from BILL RUSSELL: LEGEND to Brynn Cartelli's BOY FROM HOME music video. Her responsibilities include executing budgets, securing filming locations, and managing project personnel. Kara graduated with her BFA in film and TV production from NYU Tisch, and spent an undergraduate semester at NYU London studying advanced screenwriting with Archie Tait. She is multilingual (German, English, French). Kara was born in Germany, spent her childhood in Cologne, and moved to Connecticut when she was 11 years old. During Covid, she taught International Baccalaureate (IB) French as a long-term substitute teacher. 

Forever curious about the artistic process and always looking to nurture creativity, Kara launched and co-hosted the (im)perfect podcast. The 32 episodes feature makeup artist Stephanie Zhang, band Cherrin, filmmaker and content creator Abo Booi, fine artist Brianna Blue, composer Luis Álvarez, poet and activist Donna Dante Marie Gary, and other up-and-coming artists from around the world.
